As a photographer, I'm always looking for a story to tell and beauty in the unexpected. Over the last two years, our beautiful Western Cape has been struck by a drought that I've never experienced, even when I lived in the Kalahari as a child. As someone who sees beautiful weddings every week with the most beautiful blooms and greenery imported from across the world, I realized the importance of giving alternative inspiration to brides who are open to something different yet striking and beautiful.
With a team of collaborators under the helm of Creative Consultant, we started to plan a shoot celebrating and embracing the beauty that we can still find around us even in the worst drought in recorded history.
With this shoot our aim was also to showcase the amazing talent we have locally for expats living overseas and looking at coming "home" for an elopement or wedding celebration with their loved ones. We also had the honor to have this collaboration featured on White Magazine's blog, which was a personal bucket list dream of mine. Here's a look of what we got up to.
